What should a Vietnamese speaker of English sound like?

English Pronunciation in ELT has traditionally been taught by asking students to imitate British or American accents - something that is often unachievable, demotivating, and ineffective for real-life international communication. Join us in this panel discussion with education and pronunciation experts Drs Huong Nguyen and Marek Kiczkowiak as we discuss important pronunciation-related questions such as: How should pronunciation be taught in Vietnamese classrooms? What pronunciation outcomes should Vietnamese learners aim for? How does the way we speak in English link to our identity?
