About the event

Debate requires strong listening, speaking and critical thinking skills. It is a complex task which needs careful set-up. This model lesson from Reflect Listening and Speaking shows how a unit is carefully structured. The lesson stages build towards the final task. Using the relatable theme of sports, we will look at its definition before deciding what can and can't be considered a sport. To help us prepare, we will listen for and give opinions, use listing words and phrases, tackle gerunds and conjunctions, highlight sentence stress, and brainstorm ideas. Join us to learn how to set-up an effective debate lesson!
