Reflect
In this reading and writing model lesson for English language teachers, we look at two topics that enhance school readiness for older students - reading and writing, and building friendships. In the latter, we will discuss the topic of friends, including casual friends and the qualities of friends. For reading and writing, we will focus on identifying and producing good paragraphs, including elements such as the main idea, topic sentences and supporting evidence to back up opinions. By combining a real-world topic with academic skills, we can engage our learners and ready them to achieve more in their school education.
